Every now and then, people try to escape the unblinking eye of the Board, to join the resistance. The winding streets prove labyrinthine, however. Time and time again, would-be rebels get cornered in Rogue's Alley and hauled away by the ruthless Enforcers. With a strategic mind, good craftsmanship, and copious amounts of sheet metal, this ends now.

Made in 96 hours for the GMTK 2024 Game Jam.

The theme was "Built to Scale". What better fit than building parkour courses to help people scale buildings?

Instructions
  • The objective is to get runners from the left side of the screen onto the building to the right. 10 runners must escape before 3 are captured.
  • If the enforcer reaches the runner, the enforcer reaches the end before the runner, or the runner can't move anymore, the runner is captured.
  • The main currency is actions, which can be spent on obstacles to hinder enforcers and give runners a path upward.
    • 1 action may be spent to:
      • Place a 1m by 1m box on a standable space.
      • Destroy an obstacle and anything it's supporting.
    • 2 actions may be spent to:
      • Place a 3m or 5m high wall in a free space. These cannot be stood on.
      • Place a 2m long platform over two occupied spaces, including walls.
    • 3 actions may be spent to:
      • Place a 4m ladder on the side of any standable space.
      • Place a 3m long platform in a free space.
  • Movement is measured in metre squares, and time is based on increments of time units (or TU).
    • It takes 1TU to:
      • Run 1m forward while standing up, or fall 1m forward
      • Vault onto a waist-high object, or vault off of one
      • Jump 1m up and 2m forward
      • Slide 2m forward under an obstacle
      • Stand up
    • It takes 2TU to:
      • Run 1m forward while crouched
      • Climb 1m up on a ladder
      • Climb onto a platform from the top of a ladder
    • It takes 3TU climb onto a ledge without support
    • People go downward 1m for the first TU when falling if they can move forward, and 3m downward for each other TU while falling. Landing after a high fall forces them to roll 2m for 1TU before continuing. If they roll into an object, they are stunned for 2TU.
    • Neither person will move backwards.
